As a patron of CC0 Textures you can download all the assets (even the unreleased ones) at once from the cloud. This article will explain...
What the special access is
How it works
How you can sign up
How you receive your login credentials
What do I get with the special access?
With the special access you can download all assets of CC0 Textures using a desktop application. This makes it much easier than clicking your way through the website. You will also get access to all the materials that are done but that haven't been published on the site.
How does the special access work?
If you sign up to the with the right tier you will be eligible to get credentials for a "Backblaze B2 or S3-Compatible endpoint". These are just a string of letters and numbers (like a passcode) that you can throw into a number of different applications to get your files. You can then browse the assets like any other cloud storage (Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.) and download whatever you need.
The difference with this system is that you don't need an account with any specific provider. You simply take your key and put it into a software of your choice (linked below).
In the past CC0 Textures used Google Drive for this purpose. The problem with this approach is that Google Drive wasn't really build for distributing this many files to this many people which can cause it to become very slow or even block your downloads.
Get the credentials
After making your pledge simply go to patreon.com/messages and write me a short message. You can also write to email@example.com if you prefer, but using Patreon for this makes it easier.
This step might get fully automated in the future but for now it requires this manual request, especially because many people might sign up but don't actually want the special access.
After making the request a key will be generated for you. It will be sent to the email address that you are using for your Patreon account. If are having trouble receiving it there then I can also send it to you via the Patreon messages.
Use the credentials
These credentials can be used in client programs that support either the Backblaze B2 API or S3-compatible endpoints. This article helps you find the right tool for your needs:
